Philadelphia native Aliah Wright worked her way through college as an editorial assistant for The Philadelphia Daily News and as a stringer for The Philadelphia Inquirer. A writer and former entertainment editor, she spent a successful journalism career working for a variety of news outlets. Those includeThe Associated Press, where she was a Political Correspondent, and at what is now known as
Gannett | USA TODAY Network, where she was the Entertainment Editor for Gannett News Service.
A Harvard-trained, Temple University grad, she lives with her family just outside Philadelphia, where she’s working on the last installment in the “Now You Owe Me” series and a horror novel set in Philadelphia.

When she’s not working in digital and social media marketing, writing, or traveling abroad, she’s making TikToks about the craft of writing @aliahwrites. Her critically acclaimed book, "Now You Owe Me," which has been compared to works by New York Times bestselling authors Thomas Harris, Gillian Flynn, Tana French, and Karin Slaughter, is her first novel.
